Here is a brief chronology of my mechanic know-how...
1948- Born in Pierre, South Dakota
1959- Worked in my father's auto shop in Harrold, SD cleaning parts and learning the
basics of rebuilding engines and entire vehicles.
1966- Graduated from high school and went to work at a Chevrolet dealership in Pierre,
SD as a full-time auto mechanic.
1966-1978 Worked as a full-time auto mechanic for Chevrolet, Ford, and Chrysler
dealerships, while continuing my education in auto-rebuilding with local classes and
racing cars in South Dakota.
1971- Built my first dirt track race car from the ground up, and a couple more in the
years to follow.
1971- Won the South Dakota State Fair in my first year! I also won Most Popular Car,
Most Popular Driver, Most Popular Mechanic, and High Point Car winning seven main
events in a row! My name is on the South Dakota State Fair Speedway Wall of
Champions 1971.
1978- Moved to Colorado
1978-1980 Worked for a Chrysler dealership and an independent auto shop as a
full-time mechanic in Longmont, CO.
1981-1997 Worked for a medical instrument manufacturer in Boulder, CO as a
production machine mechanic while rebuilding and working on my own vehicles.
1997-2005 Drove delivery truck out of Berthoud, CO for a metal heat treating company.
2000-2006 Helped my sons on their race cars in the Denver area tracks, gave tools and
mechanical know how to both on their racing adventures.
2005-Present Day I've been building a log cabin home and remodeled our current
home outside the Ft. Collins, CO area.
